Studio Airport is an independent practice in graphic design and film exploring the progressive intersection of these two disciplines. The Utrecht-based design studio was founded in 2011 by Bram Broerse and Maurits Wouters, Studio Airport comprises a close-knit team of creatives. Since then they construct unique narratives through a filmic approach to design. Shifting between large scale and small-sized commissions, Studio Airport has achieved a rarity in finding a balance between the commercial and personal, a balance that is both refreshing and exhilarating to the designers.
In the past 10 years Studio Airport has won national and international awards (The Webby Awards, Awwwards, European Design Awards, ADC Awards, Stack Awards etc.) and their sleek, sophisticated and stylish work appeared in various publications. They were co-founders of the print and exhibition space ‘Kapitaal’ and took part in various exhibitions. Clients of Studio Airport include Emergence Magazine, Greenpeace International, Amsterdam Art Council, Stedelijk Museum Breda, Global Oneness Project, Hart Island Project New York, White Ribbon UK, Dutch Ministry of Culture, Education and Science, HKU (University of the Arts Utrecht), Slapfunk Records and Music Venue 013 amongst others.
