Max Enrich is a furniture and product designer based in Barcelona. His work seeks to provoke the user by finding functional solutions for unexpected shapes. Playing with the limits of forms and proportions, his objects lie somewhere between art and design: a reminiscence of sculptures more likely to be found in galleries than at furniture trade shows. Max believes in the infinite potential of the most common materials like iron, stone, marble, glass and wood. In his practice he experiments with the concept of how the familiarity and roughness of these materials can turn into something graceful and delicate.
The range of Enrich's body of work is delightfully broad: from totem floor lamps through zig-zagging micro shelves and side tables with the shape of a simple staircase to stools that fit together like a puzzle. Among his recent works is a sophisticated towering ladder-inspired shelf with a winding metal-rod sculpture for the stylish Hermès boutique in Barcelona. Max participates in exhibitions of conceptual or experimental furniture. His work has been published in different specialized media such as Wallpaper*, ICON Design, Elle Decoration, AD, Neo2 and others.
