The exhibition explores the re-interpretation of heritage within contemporary design. Through a collection of works by diploma students at MOME, it highlights the fusion of traditional cultural elements with modern design practices. The pieces on display showcase innovative approaches to heritage, offering new insights into its relevance and influence in today’s creative landscape. By bridging the past and present, these designs challenge conventional boundaries and encourage fresh perspectives. The exhibition invites viewers to reflect on how history and tradition can inspire forward-thinking design solutions.
The exhibition Re-Interpreting Heritage will be presented by its curator Péter Molnár, who has been the director of the Design Institute at MOME since 2022. He considers his main task to be using the opportunities design can offer by teaching new generations, as well as by sensitising and educating market players.
