Chushkopek
Albena Todorova lives and works in Sofia. She loves Vitosha, lyutenitza, and poetry. She combines her profession as a financier with writing, and for several years has maintained the Instagram profile lyutenitza, where she posts reviews and photos of her favourite food made from roasted peppers. “The chushkopek is one of the wonderful things that connects people from different social strata and interests.” In her view, the chushkopek has the potential to become part of the core of a community that struggles to unite around shared values. Albena finds it challenging to convey the chushkopek to those unfamiliar with its cultural context. Her hope is for “the miracle of the chushkopek to reach more people.”
