Eli Gutiérrez, ES

Eli Gutiérrez is a cosmopolitan designer, born in Valencia, Spain. After completing her studies in her home city, she moved to London to study a Master’s in Product Design at the Royal College of Art. This step helped her to shape a clear and elegant vision for her own design language, and to hone a keen sense of materials, colors, and textures. Subsequent to this experience, Eli lived in Milan and Paris, where she collaborated with Patricia Urquiola, Philippe Starck, and India Mahdavi.

In 2016, Eli founded her own multidisciplinary design studio between Paris and Valencia, focusing on product design, interior design, installations and concept creation, making designs for brands and companies such as Missana, Black Tone by JMM, Cimenterie de La Tour, Chevalier Edition, Geelli, Mad Lab, and NT Forest and Signorini Rubinetterie among others. Since 2020, she is a professor in the Master of Product Design at the Cardenal Herrera CEU University in Valencia.
Eli defines her cosmopolitan and cross-cultural approach as that of a ‘World Citizen’: an explorer attentive to detail, and a traveler with a contemporary and incisive view on remodeling the traditional codes of our environment. Eli’s designs feature unique, embedded stories, and are often expressed with an eloquent and fresh elegance. There is an identity in her work that emphasizes the function, the material and the detail. An unconditional love for craftsmanship paired with a good feel for new technologies and a true flair for color, authentic materials and textures, makes her distinctive language, not to forget the consideration and respect for all of the details and steps necessary to create a project.

*MELBA Symposium is proud to present Eli Gutiérrez as a speaker thanks to the kind support of the Spanish Embassy in Bulgaria.
